Trading conditions
In short
Forwarding and customs work is accepted on standard forwarding conditions. Customs representation is direct by default: the declaration is lodged in the customer's name and the customs debt is the customer's.

Representation
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, we act as direct representative under Article 18 of the Union Customs Code. The customer is the declarant. Indirect representation is available only where the customer is not established in the European Union, and is agreed case by case.
Duty and import VAT
Where we advance duty, import VAT or terminal charges, we do so as a payment service on the customer's behalf. The amounts are invoiced at cost with the receipt attached. Advancing payment does not transfer the underlying liability to us.
Information supplied by the customer
Commodity classification, customs value, origin and the accuracy of the commercial documents remain the customer's responsibility. We will query what looks wrong, and we will not lodge a declaration we believe to be incorrect.
Liability
Liability for the physical carriage is limited by the conventions applicable to the leg concerned (Hague-Visby, CMR, Montreal, COTIF-CIM as the case may be). Cargo insurance is offered separately and is the only way to cover the value of the goods.
This is general information, not advice for a specific shipment. Rules change; check the official source or ask us about your consignment.
